We've purchased many new cars over the years and have had both good and not-so-good working relations with the sales staff. Basically it comes down to trust. "Can I trust this person to tell me the truth--the whole truth?" Too many times I have walked away feeling that the salesperson was simply not trustworthy. Bob Staples at LaFontaine in Highland Michigan is a refreshing exception. He was completely transparent, genuine, and thorough with us on two separate occasions. I just want to say they are a great group of people. Rob and Cindy helped us tremendously with finding our vehicle and Shawn for helping with the deal on the vehicle. Luke for writing up all the paper work and have us sign it. Everyone stayed late so it was not just one person they all stayed. They treat you like family and take great care of their customers. Some people say they do it for the commission, but you know what even after we have received our vehicle, they still remember you and treat you like gold.

not sure where to start i bought my first truck from this dealer bill ward was great in helping me to get into my 2007 electric blue pearl dodge dakota 4x4 truck the exact one i have been looking for now i wont and cant say nothing bad about all the staff that help getting me into it after all they are in business of selling but the only problem i do have is that i feel as though the service people dont tell the sales people all that is wrong with what they are selling like i said bill ward and the rest in the used car department are great but i had the service 4wd light on and service didnt want to fix it now i know why it was on as i was looking for the sensor they said they replaced i found that the 4x4 plug was not plugged and there was no driveshaft on it for the 4x4 and the transfer case was grinding so i called to ask about this problem and i get told OOOOO WE KNOW THERES NO DRIVESHAFT IN IT so how can you sell a truck that says 4x4 if there is no 4x4 working i understand it was bought as is but the 4x4 should have been working right ? so i give a 5 star to bill ward and the staff that got me this truck but service needs to fix this problem
Very friendly people great experience but they sold my hubby a 2007 Dodge Dakota 4wd pickup truck and we get it home and we find out there is no driveshaft in it for the 4 wheel drive how can you sell a 4 wd if it isn't a 4wd and it is in all the paperwork that's 4wd I'm just not understanding it but the staff was very friendly

Came in for recall work for my 1998 Honda civic they were awesome! They got me in and out in under 2 hours ( I was told would take 3 hours) excellent service! Best part it was free! My car hasn't stalled since! The ignition switch was on recall and was the reason my car was acting up. Thanks guys!
Bought a used car in pretty nice shape here almost a year and a half ago now from Dean and the entire experience was really quite pleasant. Really nice, honest guy who also gave me a pretty great deal. I purchased a service contract from a third party through the finance manger at the time to make sure the clutch on the car was covered to prevent that bill from popping up. After the car broke 100k miles the clutch went out and due to some sneaky language in the contract, the company refused to cover it. I went back to the dealer to see Dean, who was also deceived by the wording, took it to his manager Jim almost immediately. They covered the cost of the repair for me, something that they absolutely did not have to do. They were both very kind and helpful the entire time. Super solid guys the both of them and I would recommend anyone to go there and see Dean. I personally went to him because of reviews I read here on google and it was certainly the right choice, now I’d like to add to that. If I’m still in Michigan when I go to buy another car it will for sure be from him!

I bought a 2017 SUV a month ago from here and the vehicle broke down and needs a new motor and has never had an oil change since 2017. They refuse to help and Greg Moore the used cars sales manager is extremely rude.
We really enjoyed meeting with the dealership and felt very impressed when management stopped by to chat and ask any of our questions. They worked to make sure we knew all our options and found us the car we wanted!
I haven't had such a enormous experience with a dealership since i stepped foot in this dealership. They put me in the car I wanted so badly and made it happen for me and they have treated me like royalty even after selling me my vehicle. This is the first kia dealership that I have grown to trust. We purchased three Kias from Lafontaine about 8 years ago but, due to the distance from our home, got our next Kias from a closer dealer. We have been looking to get out of our current Sorento lease a few months early and our current Kia dealer told us we were not close on the price. So, I called the salesperson, Miles Brown, who we had a great experience with years ago, and told him I had a "Mission Impossible" for him to get us in to a new Sorento. After about 30 minutes, he called me back and asked what time we could come in tomorrow to pick up the vehicle. Yes, he accomplished the "mission"! Miles was able to get is a great deal and, walked me through the process of what I needed to fo to get it turned around quickly and efficiently. Dealership looks a lot different than I remembered it...recently remodeled and more welcoming. Miles always took great care of us and today was no different. Everything was smooth, he walked us through the changes on the 2019 Sorento (turned in a 2017 Sorento) and off we went driving away in our new vehicle. This is our 6th Kia/Hyundai so obviously we think they make great vehicles and I highly recommend Miles Brown at Lafontaine if you are looking for a new Kia and want someone who will give you great service and advice on a vehicle.

UPDATE 5/22/19: The Service Manager called me soon after I left the review and asked me to come in to take a test drive with him. I did so this morning and within an hour they admitted to and fixed the unbalanced tires, and within the timeframe I requested and was promised. I will admit that I had not intended to leave a review at all had it not been for the text message I received asking me to leave one. I do believe this is good follow-up customer service and hope they continue to use it. Immediate and easy access to provide feedback is a good way to resolve any issues but also to build a solid reputation. Typically, I do not have issues with this dealership and the only reason I didn’t give an updated 5 rating is because the issue happened in the first place. On a side note, I do not know the intricacies of car maintenance at a dealership but experience (not only mine) shows that estimated completion times are significantly longer than an “estimate” predicts. It would be nice if a service center would improve this process by providing more realistic time estimates or fine tuning the process to minimize the wait times. I would rather someone be upfront or provide an accurate status update than make a promise (because people only hear what they want to hear) they can’t keep. ——————————Bought a new set of tires, alignment and balance completed, and my wheel was vibrating afterwards. Tony told me to come in first thing on 5/14 and when I arrived he stated it would get in to be serviced right away. After two hours he told me it would be 10 min and that they were putting the tires back on and taking it for a test drive. 40 minutes later I finally received my car. I let Tony know I wasn’t happy. He told me that he knew and that they wanted to make sure it was done right this time and that the mechanic wasn’t even getting paid for his time (how is that comforting?). He did agree to a free oil change That I asked for, although this was all a verbal exchange. In the end, it wasn’t fixed and the wheel still vibrates to this day (5/20). I’m not sure if there is a break-in period or what for new tires but I won’t be getting my car serviced there anymore unless this is rectified or someone helps me to better understand why my wheel still shakes at high speeds after 2 balances.

We were shopping for a new car. I really liked the Camry SE but it had a sluggish & erratic transmission. Also, blind spot & cross traffic monitors are optional?? However the sales manager was the best. Honest, up front and friendly.
