- CPOV: Also known as "Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle," this tier includes models up to five years old with fewer than 75,000 miles.
- CPO Gold:This second-level tier includes models up to five years old with fewer than 75,000 miles, but with lower condition requirements.
- CPO Go: This third tier includes models between six and ten years old, with between 75,000 and 120,000 miles.
- All Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram models receive a thorough 125-point inspection regardless of the tier they ultimately qualify for. The tier that a CPO model belongs to then dictates which warranties it comes with:
- CPOV: A powertrain limited warranty of seven years or 100,000 miles, and a comprehensive limited warranty of three months or 3,000 miles.
- CPO Gold: A comprehensive limited warranty of twelve months or 12,000 miles.
- CPO Go: A comprehensive limited warranty of three months or 3,000 miles.
With any CDJR CPO model, you’ll receive 24/7 roadside assistance during the warranty period, including flat-tire assistance, fuel delivery, and lockout support. Also included is a rental car allowance of $45 per day, a three-month trial of Connected Services, and a three-month trial of SiriusXM.
Ford Blue Advantage
Ford’s CPO program is called Ford Blue Advantage, and it includes three tiers: Gold Certified, Blue Certified, and EV Certified.
Gold Certified models are six years old or newer, with fewer than 80,000 miles, and have passed a 172-point inspection. It must be a Ford model to qualify. As for coverage, every Gold Certified model includes a seven-year or 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty and a 12-month or 12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty.
EV Certified models are likewise six years old or newer and have fewer than 80,000 miles, but they need only a 127-point inspection, because EV powertrains have far fewer moving parts than gas engines. This tier also only applies to Ford models. As for coverage, every EV Certified model includes an eight-year or 100,000-mile BaseCARE EV limited warranty and a 12-month or 12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty.
Blue Certified models are ten years old or newer, with fewer than 150,000 miles, and have passed a 139-point inspection. Most impressively, this tier can accept any model from any automaker! As for coverage, Blue Certified models receive a 90-day or 4,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty.
All Ford Blue Advantage models come with 24/7 roadside assistance, FordPass Rewards Points, and a 14-day or 1,000-mile money-back guarantee. The duration of roadside assistance and the number of rewards points vary thusly:
- Gold Certified: Seven years or 100,000 miles, and 22,000 rewards points.
- EV Certified: Five years or 60,000 miles, and 22,000 rewards points.
- Blue Certified: Seven years or 100,000 miles, and 11,000 rewards points.
Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned
Are you considering a Hyundai? This South Korean automaker breaks its CPO program into two tiers: Hyundai Certified Used and Hyundai Select Used.
Hyundai Certified Used models must be six years old or newer, have no more than 80,000 miles, and pass a 173-point inspection. These models then receive the following benefits:
- A ten-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty
- A five-year, 60,000-mile comprehensive warranty
- A ten-year, 100,000-mile HEV/PHEV/EV battery warranty (if applicable)

Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned
Are you looking to access luxury without paying a huge price? Consider a CPO Cadillac. Because of the strictness of its 172-point inspection for all models, this brand has excluded itself from the same coverage that the rest of the General Motors umbrella receives.
Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned vehicles all qualify for the same tier of coverage, which is determined solely by the multi-point inspection, with no age or mileage restrictions. Certified Cadillac technicians will ensure that any used model up for this CPO program is worthy of its perks based only on its condition.
Once accepted into this CPO program, models receive a one-year, unlimited-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty, as well as 24/7 roadside assistance during the life of this warranty, courtesy transportation during warranty repairs, and a three-month trial of SiriusXM.
Kia Certified Pre-Owned

Volkswagen Certified Pre-Owned
If you're thinking about getting a Volkswagen, you’ll enjoy quality models with extended benefits when you buy through this German automaker's single-tiered CPO program.
Certified Pre-Owned Volkswagen models are evaluated using a system with unique standards for each nameplate, so there's no fixed age or mileage limit that determines coverage across the lineup. You can, however, always count on a multi-point inspection that assesses more than one hundred areas.
The provision of warranty coverage is also unique, with gas models from 2019 receiving a comprehensive limited warranty of one year or 12,000 miles, gas models from 2020 or newer receiving a comprehensive limited warranty of two years or 24,000 miles, and EV models from 2018 or newer receiving a comprehensive limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles.
